Why are Muslims upset?

I don't understand why the Muslim world would be more upset about some Christian extremists burning the Quran than about some Muslim extremists killing thousands of people. Where were all these Muslims in 2001 after 9/11? What were they doing and what were they thinking? Did the Muslim community express their outrage at what a few extremists did? Did the leaders of that worldwide community express their outrage and condemn the acts of these few?

I don't remember it that way. I didn't hear any words of condemnation from any imams, but I hear a lot expressing their love of the Quran and their concern that a few of their holy books will be burned. Interesting that they place more value in a book than in a person's life.

Do we have our priorities out of order? We fear for the lives of our servicemen and women in foreign countries because of what a handful of Christian fanatics will do and we seek to limit what is well within an American's right of free expression. We fear the response of the whole of Islam. What put our servicemen in harm's way? Why do we have to worry about the Islamic response?

Our servicemen and women should not be in harm's way. They should be home with us. Why are we spending lives and treasure that we really don't have? Are we doing it for a cheaper barrel of oil? For myself, I would rather pay more for the oil then spend another life.
