NORFOLK, Va. — James B. Arnold, a member of the Chesapeake Virginia Stake, recently was awarded the 2010 Virginia CFO Award for Large Private Companies.
Arnold, chief financial officer of shipping firm CMA CGM (America), based in Norfolk, was honored for his efforts in maintaining a strong cash flow in a challenging economic environment.
A member of the Mount Pleasant Ward, he serves on the high council and is responsible for helping a small branch in North Carolina, stake welfare and the addiction recovery program.
Arnold is also active in community affairs, serving as chairman of the Coalition for Hearing Education and Research, secretary/president-elect of the Great Bridge Rotary Club, chairman of the Norfolk chapter of the Finance Executive Network Group and committee chairman of Scout Troop 444.
The award was presented by Virginia Business Magazine with the following co-sponsors Goodman & Co., the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, U.S. Trust and McGuireWoods.
