MIDWAY — Wasatch County sheriff's deputies busted a marijuana growing operation in Snake Creek Canyon on Wednesday.
Officials said they expected to remove as many as 7,000 plants from the mountain area south of the Wasatch Mountain State Park Golf Course.
Wasatch County sheriff's officials were alerted of the operation three weeks ago, when a landowner called to report some suspicious tubing in a stream.
Police observed the operation for a week, but were unable to catch two individuals seen tending to the plants because of steep terrain and heavy vegetation.
Anyone with information about the individuals is asked to contact the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office at 435-654-1411.
