DANIELS SUMMIT, Wasatch County — Officials believe alcohol played a part in a fatal accident Saturday when an Orem man was killed after his all-terrain vehicle crashed into a tree.
The victim, 25-year-old Brady Price, was driving with a passenger up Main Canyon Road on his way back to camp near Daniels Summit where he was staying for the statewide Archery Elk and Deer Hunt.
Utah State Parks & Recreation officials say the ATV rider was speeding down the road and lost control on a turn, crashing into a tree. Neither rider was wearing a helmet.
The victim hit the tree and had severe injuries to his head.
Emergency medical responders were on scene within 25 minutes and he was pronounced dead on scene, said Utah State Parks and Recreation park ranger Drew Patterson. A helicopter on standby was cancelled.
The other rider, a man in his mid-20s, had only minor injuries.
