BRIGHAM CITY — Police say a Brigham City man was killed after the driver of a dump truck ran a red light and T-boned his vehicle.

The 60-year-old victim was southbound on 775 West and driving through the intersection with U.S. 91 when a westbound dump truck pulling a trailer crashed into his vehicle.

The victim, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There were many witnesses who said the fatal victim had a green light and the other driver had red," Brigham City Police Lt. Michael Nelsen said.

Police took information from the driver of the dump truck, a 39-year-old man from Orem, and will refer the accident to the Box Elder County Attorney's office for possible charges, Nelsen said.

Officials say there is no indication the driver of the dump truck was impaired by drugs and alcohol.
