CROSS COUNTRY: Utah State men's and women's cross country teams will host the annual Utah State Open today at the American West Heritage Center in Providence, Utah.
The Aggies are led by three seniors on the men's side, including Nick Bolinder, Eric Larson and Chio Lopez. The women have three seniors in Lexie Meyer, Alicia (Holt) Wilkins and Kim Quinn.
Junior Brian McKenna will also be a leader, as he was selected captain on the men's side, and Quinn will be the women's 2010 season captain. McKenna had four top-20 finishes last year and was the only Aggie to run at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Quinn was the Aggies' top finisher at the 2009 NCAA Pre-Nationals, clocking in at 22:37.7.
The USU men will compete against athletes from Weber State and the Utah ski team, while the USU women will take on WSU and Utah's cross country team. The race will begin at 9 a.m. with the women running a 5K, followed by the men's 6K.
