SALT LAKE CITY — A man who was seen leaving a vehicle that wasn't his has been charged with theft and vehicle burglary from a July 28 incident in which the man stole 77 cents.
Security officers at an apartment complex spotted the man leave a vehicle parked on the street and enter the complex's parking garage.
When they confronted the man, he admitted to taking the change, and then admitted it to police, saying he was ready to be taken into custody, charging documents state.
Because the 36-year-old has been convicted of theft twice before, he is charged with third-degree felony theft and class A misdemeanor vehicle burglary in 3rd District Court.
