SALT LAKE CITY — Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn sprained the thumb on his throwing hand in Thursday's 27-24 overtime victory over Pittsburgh. He's considered day-to-day as the Utes look ahead to their final Mountain West Conference opener Sept. 11 against UNLV at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Wynn completed 21-of-36 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns against the Panthers. He was intercepted once.
"I'm fine, a little banged up," Wynn said about his health after the game. "I had a couple of missed throws."
The sophomore was accurate early, completing 15-of-20 passes for 161 yards and two scores before getting intercepted in the end zone late in the first half. After the break, Wynn was just 3-of-11 in the third quarter.
