New Catholic Church opens in St. George

ST. GEORGE — Celebration of the dedication of the new Catholic Church, 259 W. 200 North, will conclude this weekend.

Today there will be an auction of art and artifacts at 6 p.m., followed by a fundraiser dinner at the holiday inn.

On Sunday, 12:30 p.m., there will be a multilingual thanksgiving Mass, "Crowning of Our Lady of Guadalupe."

This event is open to the public at the new church.

Temple to celebrate Krishna birthday

SPANISH FORK — The annual Krishna's birthday party will be today, 8 p.m., at the Krishna Temple, 8628 S. Main.

This event is free and open to the public and will celebrate the Appearance Day of Shree Krishna, a holiday for Hindus that compares to Christmas Day.

From 8 p.m. onward, there will be Indian dance, drama, musical concerts, hot meals and more.

Blessed Sacrament plans Fall Festival

SALT LAKE CITY — The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish and School Fall Festival will be today and Sunday at 9757 S. 1700 East.

This event is open to the public. There will be a road race, car show, food, carnival, auction, bingo and more.
