LAYTON — A man found with numerous guns and lots of ammunition was arrested in Layton this week.
Nicolas Sanchez was booked into the Davis County Jail on Tuesday for investigation of possession of stolen property, possession of firearms by a restricted person and drug possession.
The investigation began Saturday when a rental car was returned to a local business and a stolen handgun was found inside, according to police.
A subsequent investigation lead detectives to Clearfield, where a search resulted in eight weapons being seized and a "large cache" of ammunition, as well as several items believed to be stolen.
The investigation was conducted by several agencies, including Layton and Clearfield police departments, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force.
