SALT LAKE CITY — All of the freeways closed due to downed power lines from Sunday's wind storm have been reopened.
The Legacy Highway reopened about 6 a.m. and the westbound lanes of I-80 were open to traffic about 7 a.m. Monday.
Wind gusts up to 76 mph around the Wasatch Front toppled trees, power poles and tore off roofing and siding to some homes Sunday. About 5 p.m., power lines were knocked down and stretched over the Legacy Highway. The road was closed from Centerville to Farmington before being reopened Monday.
About an hour after that incident, power lines were blown down over the westbound lanes of I-80 near 5600 West.
At its peak, power was knocked out to 12,000 customers along the Wasatch Front. But 10 p.m. Sunday, 8,000 customers remained without power.
