WEST VALLEY CITY — Prosecutors say the neighbor and occasional baby sitter of a 9-year-old girl raped her while she was visiting his house.
The victim's mother became aware of the situation after her daughter came home on Monday and described how Armando Zepeda had inappropriately touched her, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court Thursday.
The victim told police she had gone over to the defendant's residence to play with friends, and that while she was there the defendant raped her, charges state.
The 59-year-old Zepeda is charged with rape and aggravated sexual abuse of a child, both first-degree felonies.
Zepeda has been booked into Salt Lake County Jail on $100,007 bail.
