OREM — Police say an Orem woman's car was stolen after she left the keys in the ignition outside her work over the weekend.
The woman apparently fell behind on her car payments and thought her car would be repossessed, Orem Police Sgt. Craig Martinez said. So she parked the car at her work near 500 S. State, unlocked and with the keys inside, to make it easy for the repo man, police said.
The car was gone by Monday, and police say they haven't received a notice from any towing company that it was taken.
The vehicle, a green 2001 Ford Escape with Utah license plate Z171UG, has been listed as stolen.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 801-229-7070.
