WEST VALLEY CITY — Educators are invited to West Valley City's Summit of Educators from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 1355 W. 3100 South.
West Valley City Mayor Mike Winder set a goal at the beginning of the year to have three community summits. Winder hosted an ethnic leader summit in June and a religious leader summit in April.
Wednesday's event is the third summit and will focus on education in West Valley City. Scheduled presenters include the mayor and Utah Commissioner of Higher Education William A. Sederburg, as well as representatives of charter schools and Granite School District.
"I hope that by bringing this group of leaders together, we will be able to discuss what the city can do to further the efforts of these groups — individually and collectively," Winder said. "This summit will benefit all involved by ensuring that we're all on the same page when it comes to providing the educational opportunities that our residents deserve."
To RSVP, e-mail info@wvc-ut.gov or call 801-963-3220.
