HARRISVILLE, Weber County — A North Ogden teen was accidentally shot in the knee after police say some of his friends were playing with guns and one of the weapons went off.
The five teenage boys were all in a shed at one boy's home near 600 W. 2300 North Sunday night when one of the teens brought a few guns.
One of the boys tried to cock a revolver, and the hammer slipped out of his hand and the gun went off, said Harrisville Police Lt. Keith Wheelwright. The bullet hit the knee of a 14-year-old boy across from him, breaking the boy's femur bone.
The victim was transported to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden and later to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where he was reported to be in good condition.
The boy who was holding the revolver claimed he had found the guns. Police are investigating the incident.
