FARMINGTON — The Davis County Fair, with the theme "The Mane Event" and featuring tigers, lions and leopards, is expected to be a roaring success.
The fair will run Wednesday through Saturday at the Legacy Events Center, 151 S. 1100 West.
Activities start at noon Wednesday and 10 a.m. the remaining days. The fair closes at 10 p.m. each day.
Admission is free, although some events require tickets costing from $5 to $15. Parking is $4, or $2 with a donation of two food items for the Family Connection Center of Davis County. A list of most-needed items is at www.familyconnection4u.org.
Admission-required events are the demolition derby at 8 p.m. Wednesday ($10), the PRCA rodeo at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday ($5, $10 or $15) and the Pro-Tour Freestyle Motocross at 8 p.m. Thursday ($8). Carnival ride tickets are $1 each, $17 for 20 and $21 for 30.
"Great Cat Adventures" will be presented four times daily. Wednesday's entertainment includes the Wayne Hoskins Band. Both Thursday and Saturday feature hypnosis by Shawn Paulsen and "Dueling Pianos." Friday has a Wiseguys Comedy Showcase and concert by Jagertown.
Other activities include "Splash Dogs" jumping competitions, "Davis County's Got Talent," a rock band tournament, lawn mower racing, a children's area, a "Family Face-Off" show, science activities, a costume parade, storytelling, clowns, a fitness zone, pet show, pinewood derby, photo contests and eating contests.
