Day 5: The Cougars held their first practice in full pads.
Standouts: Tight end Devin Mahina caught a 44-yard pass from quarterback Jake Heaps. Running back Joshua Quezada had a two-yard touchdown run. Tight end Richard Wilson scored on a seven-yard touchdown pass from Riley Nelson. Placekicker Mitch Payne nailed field goals from 50 and 49 yards.
Injuries: Linebacker Tom Steele went down with an injured right ankle, and linebacker Mike Santos suffered a "bell ringer." Linebackers Jordan Pendleton (ankle) and Jordan Atkinson (shoulder) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
Next up: Today marks the first day of two-a-days. Both sessions (10:15 a.m., 5 p.m.) are open to the public.
