FRUIT HEIGHTS — The Davis County Business Development Loan Fund has been instrumental in creating or retaining more than 800 jobs in the past 11 years, the Davis County Council of Governments was told Wednesday.

Kent Sulser, Davis County community and economic development director, said the revolving loan program has made nearly two dozen loans to companies.

The fund is owned and operated by the Davis County Council of Governments and is designed to help entrepreneurs get accelerated access to money, markets and mentors. Loans are typically between $50,000 and $250,000.

The program's goal is job creation and retention in the county. Applicant companies must be Davis County-based.
