LAYTON — The Antelope Island Stampede will have local bands perform in place of Eve 6 and Sawyer Brown during the annual festival Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-5.

The event's organizers said a conflict had arisen between the partners in the promotion company of the Eve 6 and Sawyer Brown shows and that the promoter indicated he could not fulfill his commitment to the Stampede Festival.

The Antelope Island Stampede Committee apologized for any inconvenience the situation may have caused but has lined up Red Shot Pony, D. Scott Williams, Crossfire, Shades of Grey and other local bands for continuous shows on the main stage.

The event will also feature balloon launches each morning and balloon glow events in the evenings; kite demonstrations; food, art and craft vendors; horseback riding; and inflatable attractions for children.

Last year's event drew about 22,000 people.

Details are available at www.antelopeballoons.com.
