Immigration law for Utah

America is at war! I am referring to a war from within. It is a war between the federal government, states and the people. Federal and state governments are responsible for protecting the rights of the people. Regarding immigration reform, the federal government has not met the people's needs, and the states are taking action. Congress is responsible for immigration reform, and some say if states make their own laws it would be a patchwork mess throughout the United States. But the Constitution says states do have the authority to make laws involving issues that affect them as long as they don't conflict with the federal powers reserved for Congress.

The question is, do we support Arizona and other states' laws, and do we stand with our state to press forward with legislating our immigration law? With the federal option, we look at the possibility of flat-out amnesty, more promises and less action, but if we support our states, then we get laws that are tailored to meet the needs of the people. I believe that we have brilliant minds in our state government and that we know better than the federal government what is best for Utah, and that Utah can create laws that are in the best interest of both citizens and immigrants.
