SALT LAKE CITY — The total amount of prize money for Grow Utah Ventures' "Concept to Company" contest has grown to $43,500.
The prizes will consist of cash and professional consulting services. Originally, the total was $20,000.
The emphasis of the contest is on responsible energy product or service innovations, with the idea of turning a concept into a viable firm.
Three winners will be chosen, and the top winner will get a prize worth $23,000, with $7,500 of that in cash and $15,500 in consulting services. Two runners up each will get $3,750 in cash and $6,500 in consulting services.
The consulting will be provided by contest sponsors Grow Utah Ventures, Zions Bank, SEED Uintah Basin, USU Bingham Entrepreneurial & Energy Research Center, USTAR, Ballard Spahr, Workman Nydegger and CFO Solutions.
The contest is open until Aug. 31 and welcomes all Utah entrepreneurs and small-business owners to take part. For more information, check www.ConceptToCompany.org.
