SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah men's basketball schedule has been finalized with the release of the Mountain West Conference schedule.
All 16 of Utah's MWC will be televised, beginning with a game Jan. 5 at Air Force on The mtn. network. The Utes will conclude their final MWC season with a home game against UNLV on March 5, televised on VERSUS. Twelve games will be televised on The mtn., two on VERSUS and two on CBS-C.
The Utes face BYU on Jan. 11, a Tuesday, in Salt Lake City and again Saturday, Feb. 12, in Provo. Three of Utah's midweek MWC games are on Tuesdays and five are on Wednesdays.
Earlier this summer, Utah released its non-conference schedule, which is highlighted by road games at Michigan and Bradley and the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu Dec. 22-25. That tournament will include a strong field, led by NCAA runner-up Butler, and will also include Baylor, Mississippi State, Florida State, Washington State, San Diego and Hawaii. Utah's first-round opponent hasn't been announced yet.
One change had to be made to the non-conference schedule because of the Utes' addition to the Pac-10 Conference. The Utes were to play Oregon at home on Dec. 18, but now will play Boise State at home on Dec. 17 instead.
Utah will play an exhibition game Nov. 5 against Adams State before starting the season Nov. 12 against Grand Canyon. Other home games will be against Montana, Weber State, Oral Roberts, Fresno State and Pepperdine.
Other road games will be against Utah State and Portland University on Dec. 31
