ST. GEORGE, Utah — A baseball team in St. George is out of money and has been taken over by the Golden Baseball League.

The independent league will run the St. George Roadrunners for the rest of the season.

The company that owns the Roadrunners says the team has simply run out of money. Hot Corner Baseball CEO Will Joyce says the team couldn't get enough people to the ballpark.

Joyce suspended operations, then the Golden Baseball League took over the franchise on Monday.

The Roadrunners' final 11 home games have been canceled. St. George will finish out the season on the road.
