MORGAN — A South Ogden man died Saturday afternoon after crashing a single-seat glider.
Warren Evans, 55, had been gliding with two friends who were in a double-seated glider near Mahogany Canyon in Morgan County. About 4:30 p.m., the man disappeared from their sight, according to a Morgan County Sheriff's Office statement.
The friends circled the area and called 911 after noticing the crash on the ground.
Authorities pronounced the Evans dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office does not know what caused the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and will investigate.
