WOMEN'S GOLF: The team was honored by the National Golf Coaches Association as having one of the top 25 Team Grade Point Averages in NCAA women's golf. The Wildcats, coached by Jeff Smith, posted a 3.583 gpa for the 2009-10 academic year.

"It's a great honor for our team," said Smith. "Our athletes not only work hard on the course but in the classroom as well. This is the highest academic ranking our women's team have ever achieved in a single season."

The Wildcats finished ahead of such notable schools as Arizona State, Stanford and Northwestern.

TRACK & FIELD: A record total of 357 student-athletes representing 118 institutions were named to the 2009-10 United States Track & Field and

Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team. To qualify, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standards or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective events.

Weber State's Jace Nye (Sr.-Kaysville), Zach Parry (So.-Taylorsville) and Steve Shepherd (Sr.-Eden) each participated in the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Meet.

Nye finished his career with a 3.49 gpa in English Teaching. Parry has a 3.73 gpa in Health Administration Services and has two years of eligibility left. Shepherd had a 3.97 gpa in Professional Accountancy and earned his Master's degree in Accounting from WSU this past Spring.
