Mexico, U.S. share blame
Mexico has a legitimate complaint about guns being smuggled across the border from the United States. The United States has a legitimate complaint about drugs being smuggled across the border from Mexico. Each country blames the other for both of these problems. The current situation is the same as if an undeclared state of war exists between our two nations.
Nightly television clips show what appears to be great numbers of healthy and fit young men scrambling across the border from Mexico. Are some of them Mexico's fifth column? Are any of them al-Qaida operatives? I suspect the young Mexican men are after the same things our young men are after: money, cars and women. Who can blame these young Mexican men? Especially since our young men have left their money, cars and women unattended while they are off fighting wars in foreign countries.
