Radio Hall of Fame voting ends Aug. 1

The opportunity to vote the Mormon Tabernacle Choir into the Radio Hall of Fame ends at midnight on Aug. 1. Music and the Spoken Word, the choir's weekly broadcast since 1929, is one of four nominees announced by the Radio Hall of Fame in their "National-Pioneer" category.

Online voting began on June 14 at www.radiohof.org. The hall of fame website includes an audio review of all the nominees, including the Tabernacle Choir.

Voting is free, but requires registration. A person may vote once in each category. The National Radio Hall of Fame will announce the inductees during a broadcast on Nov. 6.

Stand-alone New Testament released

The LDS Church has released a stand-alone version of the New Testament. It is the standard size print with footnotes but does not include the Topical Guide, Bible Dictionary, Joseph Smith Translation, Bible maps or photographs, according to the church's public affairs blog.

It is available at distribution centers from Logan to Spanish Fork and by phone at 1-800-537-5001 or online at www.ldscatalog.com.

Scriptures online in Cebuano, Tagalog

The electronic text of the Cebuano and Tagalog LDS scriptures is now online on the LDS Church's scriptures website at scriptures.lds.org/ceb and scriptures.lds.org/tgl, according to LDS Media Talk.

The online scriptures include the text of the triple combination with footnotes, study helps, maps, photographs, and the ability to mark scriptures.

The next languages planned to be released are Japanese and Indonesian.

100 million records indexed this year

More than 100 million records have been indexed in the first half of the 2010, according to FamilySearch Indexing.

Volunteers are on track to complete a targeted 200 million by the end of the year. The completed indexes and images are available for searching at pilot.familysearch.org.

A press release from FamilySearch asked for more volunteers — especially for international, non-English indexing projects. New projects have been recently added for Brazil, Canada, Jamaica, Mexico, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States and Russia. Interested volunteers can start helping by registering at indexing.familysearch.org.
