SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake County district attorney candidate Sim Gill garnered another law enforcement union endorsement Monday, this time from the Unified Police Federation.
Gill, currently Salt Lake City's chief prosecutor, has already received a thumbs-up from the Salt Lake Police Association, which represents 340 officers. The federation represents 216 law enforcement personnel who were formerly Salt Lake County sheriff's deputies but are now part of the cooperative Unified Police Department.
Gill, a Democrat, faces GOP incumbent Lohra Miller in a reprise of the 2006 race for the county's top lawyer. Gill lost to Miller by less than 4 percent of the vote in that contest.
