SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police say a man got away with an unknown amount of money after he robbed a South Salt Lake bank Friday afternoon.
The man walked into a Wells Fargo Bank at 70 E. 3300 South at 3:30 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, said South Salt Lake Police spokesman Gary Keller.
The man reportedly said, "No one will be harmed if you follow my instructions," according to Keller.
No one in the bank was injured, and the man never mentioned or showed a weapon, Keller said.
After the teller handed the man an undetermined amount of cash, he left the bank on foot and was last seen walking south on State Street, according to a police statement.
The man is described as a heavily built white male in his 40s, about 6 feet tall and balding, with light brown hair and a full beard, according to the statement.
Anyone with information about the man's identity or whereabouts is asked to call 801-840-4000.
