SALT LAKE CITY — U.S. Bank announced Thursday that it is opening four new branches in four Utah cities and will add 32 employees to its payroll in the state.
The branches were former locations for Barnes Bank, which had been closed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. U.S. Bank is leasing one and has bought the other three buildings.
They will open in Layton at 849 W. Hill Drive, in Orem at 1220 S. State, in Roy at 4810 S. 1900 West and in South Ogden at 1840 E. Skyline Drive.
Each branch will provide a full range of banking services, including a drive-up window, and will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m on Saturday. Each also will have an ATM.
"The U.S. Bank team is looking forward to investing in these four branches and their neighborhoods, as it will make banking more convenient for our customers," Damon Miller, president of U.S. Bank in Utah, said in a statement.
"We are excited about welcoming new customers and employees to the U.S. Bank family. This expansion is a further endorsement of our strength, stability and commitment to the Utah market."
Grand openings for all four branches are set for the fall, although no dates have been announced.
These new branches will bring the total number of U.S. Bank locations in Utah to 70, with 58 along the Wasatch Front.
U.S. Bancorp owns U.S. Bank, which is the fifth-largest commercial bank in the country. U.S. Bancorp has $238 billion in assets and runs 3,002 banks in 24 states, as well as 5,309 ATMs.
