SOUTH JORDAN — Eco-Smart Car Wash, an environmentally friendly car wash, opens at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22,at 3497 W. South Jordan Parkway.
The car wash uses Earth-friendly soaps and waxes that are biodegradable and contain no phosphates or hydrofluoric acids. The business has installed 60 solar panels, which supply 10 percent to 15 percent of the energy needed for its operations.
Eco-Smart Car Wash has applied to be a certified green business through the Salt Lake County Environmental Health Department's Green Business Program. The program provides outreach and assistance to businesses that want to improve their practices while protecting the environment.
Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon will speak at Thursday's event.
