CEDAR BREAKS NATIONAL MONUMENT — At 10,350 feet above sea level, there is a refuge here from the summer heat.
Cedar Breaks National Monument is always cool and inviting at about 65 to 75 degrees and in the cool shade of pine trees and the rejuvenating beauty of nature.
Special Junior Ranger activities will begin July 24-25 and continue through Labor Day weekend.
On Aug. 21, Cedar Breaks will celebrate its history with a day of fun and information. Visitors will hear about the Civilian Conservation Corp., the connection between Cedar Breaks and former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Cedar Breaks Lodge and the Utah Parks Co. That night, there will be a showing of "My Friend Flicka," which was filmed in 1941 in and around Cedar Breaks.
There are also more programs planned at Cedar Breaks. For more information, go to www.nps.gov/cebr.
