PRICE — A Price motorcyclist was killed Tuesday in a collision with a car in Emery County.
At 10:50 a.m., dispatchers received a call about a possible DUI or reckless driver in a sedan traveling north on state Route 10 just south of Price. While still on the phone, the caller witnessed the fatal crash.
The sedan crossed the median lines into southbound traffic and struck the motorcyclist, throwing the rider from the bike, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden. Glenn Silvis, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man in the sedan suffered minor injuries and was treated at Castleview Hospital in Price, Roden said.
It is not known why the car crossed into oncoming traffic, but police suspect the driver may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Roden said.
Lane closures were in place for about three hours. The incident is still under investigation.
