SALT LAKE CITY — A West Valley mother told school counselors her 13-year-old daughter had beaten her up, but when school officials interviewed the girl they discovered years of sexual abuse that had gone unreported, charges state.

The girl said she was angry with her mother for allowing the girl's stepfather to inappropriately touch her and her sister on several occasions over the past 5-6 years, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court.

Police officers interviewed the sister, who said their stepfather first started abusing the girls the day before they started first grade. Charges state 32-year-old Ramon Corona, of Magna, came home from work around midnight and went into the girls' room where he asked the girl to leave and for her sister to stay and proceeded to inappropriately touch the sister.

On multiple occasions through second and third grade, Corona forced the sister to engage in sexual acts with him, charges state. The sister told officers that after "finishing" with her, he would call for the other girl and on several occasions touched that girl's breasts.

The abuse continued into the fifth grade. School counselors called police when they became informed of the abuse in March 2010.

Corona was charged with six counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, all first-degree felonies. A warrant has been issued for Corona's arrest with bail set at $100,000.
