STOCKTON, Tooele County — Crews contained a 2,000-acre wildfire near the Deseret Chemical Depot Friday.
The fire started on depot property before burning north off the property and firefighters continued to monitor hot spots Friday night.
Workers halted operations at the chemical weapons storage area but no facilities were threatened by the fire, according to a U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency statement.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
