KAYSVILLE — Zions Bank has purchased former Barnes Bank buildings in Kaysville and Syracuse from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Zions announced Friday.
Zions has been occupying the two office locations under short-term lease agreements with the FDIC since March, when it took over banking operations for Barnes after the local bank was shut down by federal authorities.
The Syracuse office is located at 975 W. 1700 South. The Kaysville office is located at 33 S. Main.
Since the closing of Barnes Bank in January, Zions has hired 42 of 200 former Barnes Bank employees.
In June, Zions Bank celebrated grand opening celebrations at the Kaysville and Syracuse offices it was leasing.
Zions Bank also is building a new, two-story office in Bountiful at 5 N. Main. During construction, the bank is leasing Barnes Bank's former Bountiful office location on 500 West.
