SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Dugway Proving Grounds says one of its civilian contractors died of an asthma attack.

The U.S. Army base in Utah's western desert says 60-year-old Ralph Hartley was on duty Saturday when a medical helicopter was called to take him to a hospital.

Dugway spokeswoman Paula Nicholson says Hartley was briefly revived by the medical crew, then relapsed and died an hour after his attack.

A medical investigation was under way by the Army and Tooele County authorities.
