The Utah Symphony Opera' seventh annual Deer Valley Music Festival kicks off July 17 with a pops concert featuring pop-rock pianist Ben Folds.
The season also features the country singing of Randy Travis, the grand voices of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Utah Chamber Artists.
In addition, the symphony will perform timeless works from Prokofiev, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Bach and, interestingly enough, Led Zeppelin, as well as some Disney movie classics.
Other guests include the Imani Winds, the Muir String Quartet, violinist Mark O'Connor and So Percussion.
"I'm really looking forward to the variety of performances the Deer Valley Music Festival has to offer this summer," said Utah Symphony Orchestra president and CEO Melia Tourangeau. "From rock and roll with Ben Folds to country with Randy Travis, to Disney, swing, Broadway and classical, we truly have something for every music lover."
The pops and classical concerts will take place at Deer Valley's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, and the smaller venues will house the chamber performances.
"I'm also looking forward to another season of chamber concerts in St. Mary's Church and Temple Har Shalom," Tourangeau said. "The intimate setting is perfect for an evening of classical music."
