Every day at least one family in our great country gets the call that devastates a family, telling them that their son, daughter, husband or wife is dead. We have now lost 5,000-plus heroes. We lose one or more each day.
It is obvious to everyone that we have no leadership and are in a war that we cannot win. We are fighting a foe that worships murder and killing. This is our new Vietnam. And as in Vietnam, we will, in the end, have nothing to show for it but our dead heroes.
These people have been killing each other for 1,400 years with no end in sight. When I view the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and feel the great sadness and loss, I always wonder about the lives they never had and the contributions to our world that they never made. Years from now a new wall will be made with the same sentiments.
Not one more life should be lost. Bring our soldiers home now! Our own borders need the help!
