UTAH COUNTY — Police located the vehicle of a man reported missing in Davis County, and crews spent Wednesday searching for him from the air and ground in an area west of Utah Lake.
Luciano Reynaldo Trujillo, 54, was last seen in Fruit Heights on June 30 when he told his son he was going to Vancouver, Wash., to deliver a present to his daughter, said Davis County Sheriff's Lt. Brad Wilcox.
Police issued a missing endangered person advisory for Trujillo on Tuesday because he has bipolar personality disorder as well as kidney disease, which requires him to have dialysis twice a week, Wilcox said.
Based on a tip, sheriff's deputies found Trujillo's Subaru Legacy abandoned west of Utah Lake near the Nutty Putty caves early Wednesday.
Wilcox said crime scene investiagtors examined the vehicle and returned it to the family. Officials have not determined why Trujillo may have been in the area.
"It's a real mystery why he would have been out there," Wilcox said. "There are a lot of unanswered questions."
Trujillo is described as Hispanic with dark brown hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing 210 pounds.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Davis County Sheriff's Office at 801-451-4150 or call 911.
