I am writing to express appreciation for Chevron's quick and thorough response to the oil spill into Red Butte Creek. In my opinion, they have gone above and beyond the call of duty in trying to repair the damage and inconvenience incurred upon residents along the stream.
We own the first property to receive Red Butte Creek after it passes under Sunnyside Avenue and we were personally notified within an hour of the discovery of the spill and asked if we needed anything. Their crews have been here numerous times to scour the culvert and the stream bed and have always been extremely polite and accommodating. Yesterday, they came back to clean up the surrounding area, but they serviced more than the immediate area around the stream. They trimmed bushes, cleared paths and stairs, swept decks, and even cleaned and trimmed the driveway, as well as repaired a sinking step leading to a deck by the stream.
All weddings that were scheduled at the Garden Park Ward for the summer have been moved to any other location of choice of the wedding party by Chevron at Chevron's expense.
We feel that Chevron has done a superb job with a difficult situation.
