OREM — The Utah Department of Transportation will close 800 North from 10 p.m. Wednesday until 5:30 a.m. Thursday to remove portions of a bridge.
The I-15 ramps to 800 North will remain open during demolition. East-west travel on 800 North will be closed under the freeway. UDOT advises drivers to use 1600 North, 400 North or Center Street as alternatives.
Similar closures and bridge demolition have occurred at Center Street in Orem as part of the $1.7 billion I-15 CORE reconstruction project. At 800 North, crews will remove 12 feet of the outside portion of the bridge to make room to widen the bridge. Additional travel lanes in each direction are being added to I-15.
