OGDEN (AP) — The Ogden Police Department has a new assistant chief.
Marcy Korgenski was promoted to the post last week, making her the first female assistant chief in the city's history.
Korgenski is a 28-year veteran on the force who most recently was a lieutenant over training at the department. She was also the first female police lieutenant in Ogden.
Chief Jon Greiner said the promotion came after Assistant Chief Randy Watt was granted another year of military leave. When Watt returns next year, the assistant chief responsibilities will be split, Greiner said.
