Ganther arrested for suspicion of DUI

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Seattle Seahawks and former University of Utah running back Quinton Ganther has been released from Sacramento County Jail in California following an early morning arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.

The Sacramento County Sherriff's inmate registry showed the 25-year-old Ganther was booked into jail at 6:50 a.m. Saturday and released hours later.

His bail had been listed as $1,482. The native of Oakland had a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, according to The Seattle Times.

The Seahawks had no comment other than to say they were aware of the situation and gathering information.

The Seahawks signed Ganther this winter as a free agent from Washington. He ran for 199 yards in eight games last season for the Redskins, after playing in 15 games over the previous two seasons for Tennessee.

Lesnar defends heavyweight MMA title

LAS VEGAS — Brock Lesnar rallied from a horrific first-round beating to stop Shane Carwin with a choke in the second round, defending his heavyweight title at UFC 116 on Saturday night.

Lesnar won his first fight in nearly a year despite taking a pounding in the opening minutes from Carwin, the previously undefeated interim champion.

Lesnar, the intimidating former professional wrestler and the UFC's biggest pay-per-view star, took down Carwin in the second round. He got Carwin in an arm triangle choke, forcing Carwin to tap out at the MGM Grand Garden.

Lesnar canceled two previous bouts with Carwin after developing an intestinal illness that nearly killed him.

Leben forces Akiyama to tap out at UFC

LAS VEGAS — Chris Leben stopped Yoshihiro Akiyama with 40 seconds left in the final round, earning a dramatic victory at UFC 116 in his second fight in two weeks.

After taking more punishment than he delivered in the first two rounds, Leben got Akiyama in a triangle choke, forcing Akiyama to tap out of his second UFC bout. Just two weeks after beating Aaron Simpson, Leben returned to the cage as an injury replacement for Wanderlei Silva. Despite one of the quickest turnarounds in recent MMA history, Leben survived Akiyama's skill before the last-minute stoppage.
