Utah Blaze looking for revenge against the Iron

WEST VALLEY CITY — It was a game the Utah Blaze feel they should have won. It was also a game that grabbed a big chunk of the heart from the Blaze and stomped on it, starting what is now an embarrassing seven-game losing streak that has been filled with a coaching staff change, roster changes, player suspensions and more bad luck than any team really deserves.

So tonight, when the Blaze host the Milwaukee Iron at the Maverik Center, Utah will try to not only get a little revenge from the heart-breaking 56-55 overtime loss on May 14, but the Blaze will also try to salvage what has quickly become a disaster of a season.

The Iron are fighting for playoff position as the regular season winds down. Utah, on the other hand, is trying to build a little confidence and give the increasingly small home crowd a reason to keep coming to the games.

Milwaukee averages 66.7 points per game, while Utah is scoring 45 ppg. The Blaze have had a rash of injuries that have led to some defensive struggles as well as inconsistency at the quarterback position.

Knowing they played so well against Milwaukee the last time the teams met has the Blaze hoping they'll snap out of their losing ways when the Iron is the road team.

Utah closes out the home portion of its season next week when Jacksonville comes to town. After that, the Blaze will conclude the season with a three-game road swing to Arizona, Dallas and Alabama.
