CLEARFIELD — The city has announced the lineup for its annual Fourth of July celebration events, set for July 2-3.
July 2 activities include "Fighting Hunger on the Fourth," a food drive to benefit the Utah Food Bank. People are asked to bring non-perishable food items to Fisher Park, 934 S. 1000 East. Collection carts will be available both days and also at Bicentennial Park, 931 E. 600 South.
A free family movie, "Planet 51," will be shown at dusk at Fisher Park. Concessions will be available.
July 2 also features Clearfield Community Theater's production of the musical "She Loves Me" at 7:30 p.m. at the Bicentennial Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Additional show dates are July 3, 5, 8, 9 and 10. Ticket information is available at 801-525-2790.
July 3 begins with a Freedom 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk beginning at 7 a.m. at the Clearfield city building, 55 S. State St. Registration forms are at www.clearfieldcity.org.
Boy Scout Troop 385 will have a pancake breakfast 7-10 a.m. at the Macey's parking lot, 580 S. State St.
A parade begins at 9:30 a.m., starting at the corner of Center and State streets, continuing south on State, turning east on 700 South and ending on 1000 East by Clearfield High School. Parade marshal 2nd District Court Judge Thomas L. Kay will be inducted into the Clearfield High School Alumni Hall of Fame during the festivities at Fisher Park at 6:45 p.m.
Also on July 3, the Clearfield Aquatic Center, 825 S. State, will have an "open plunge" 1-6 p.m.
The Fisher Park festival will run 6-11 p.m. The Clearfield Community Band will provide patriotic music 6-6:45 a.m. The headliner group is The Soulistics, performing at 8:30 p.m. The festival also features food vendors, games and inflatable toys and 10 p.m. fireworks.
