Jeff Hansen, left, and David Bagley with the Heritage Church Organ Co. in Orem, Utah, assemble a digital pipe organ at the Salt Lake City Main Library on Tuesday. The digital organ will be used by Richard Elliott, principal organist for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, for his performances Thursday through Saturday during the Utah Arts Festival.

The digital organ is nearly identical to the organ Elliott uses when he travels with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The Rodgers digital pipe organ simulates 130 ranks of pipes on a pipe organ. In comparison, the pipe organ in the Conference Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has 130 ranks of pipes, and the organ in the Salt Lake LDS Tabernacle has 206 ranks of pipes.
