The Casey Life Skills Assessment is used by Ming Wang, Utah Youth in Transition program director, to assess youths and adults on their level of functioning and also has valuable resources based on test scores.
"The whole SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) site has a lot of good resources," said Becky Harding, public information officer for the Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH, "but this link goes directly to the correct page on the site for mental health in children and adolescents."
Another resource Harding recommends is NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). "They have a national organization, but their Utah organization is wonderful," Harding said.
For families of people diagnosed with a mental illness, Allies With Families offers support and information.
