OGDEN — A Riverdale man has pleaded guilty to third-degree felony aggravated assault in the shooting of 9-year-old North Ogden boy.
David Dunlap also pleaded guilty Thursday in 2nd District Court to class A misdemeanor attempted possession of a firearm by a restricted person. Dunlap, 29, will be sentenced Aug. 6.
Police said Dunlap fired a loaded shotgun Nov. 7, sending pellets through a window at a Roy mobile home.
A 9-year-old boy who was walking by was hit in four places, from his thigh to his neck.
Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham has said the boy was about 8 feet from the muzzle when he was hit.
Whinham said Dunlap had been drinking and had ingested marijuana when he started cleaning and reassembling the shotgun.
