Andrew Kindfuller has been named the new CEO for Platinum Protection, a national home security firm. He has 25 years of experience in executive and managerial positions with direct response, manufacturing and consumer product companies. Scott MacArthur has been chosen as Platinum Protection's new chief financial officer. He has 25 years of business and finance experience, including work at other large security firms. Platinum is a national company that currently has customers in 43 states.

Kevin Van Horn has become a software engineer at The Modellers, a Utah-based market research firm. He has a doctorate in computer science from Brigham Young University, a master's degree in computer science from the California Institute of Technology, and dual bachelor of science degrees in physics and computer science from the University of Utah.

Keith Gerson has become chief operating officer for Sopra Brands, a multi-concept franchise system that is headquartered in Salt Lake City. He will oversee operations of Sopra Brands' franchise and business concepts that include such things as Hogi Yogi and Teriyaki Stix, and introduce new Sopra-owned brands.

Four lawyers at the Salt Lake City-based law firm Fabian & Clendenin have received top rankings in the 2010 Chambers USA — Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers. The following attorneys at the firm received the highest numerical rankings: Peter Billings, who specializes in general commercial litigation; Diane Banks, real estate; Rosemary Beless, energy and natural resources; and Scott Petersen, labor and employment. The firm was noted as a leading law firm in Utah, for its commercial litigation and real estate sections.

Heiner Dreismann has been elected to the board of directors for Myriad Genetics. He has more than 24 years of experience in the health care industry.

The Utah Technology Council has named several new members to its board. They include: Christine Archibald, founder and CEO of Management Plus; Sharon Cook, senior vice president of marketing and public relations at Mountain America Credit Union; Dave Cutler, vice president global technical support of Novell; Susan Preator, founder and CEO of Imagine Learning; Sam Souvall, founder and owner of DaVinci International; Chris Stone, managing director of Epic Ventures; Clark Turner, founder, president and CEO of Aribex; and Hal Widlansky, CEO of Mangia Technologies.

Jones Waldo, a Utah-based law firm, has added personal injury attorney Lynn Harris to its Utah County presence. Working along with Harris are his staffers Sarah Isom, legal assistant; and Ruthanne Bridges, receptionist. Harris has more than 28 years of experience and in this firm will head the personal injury group.
